No, you're exactly right.
Have you tried building Swish-e with 64-bit file support on your 32-bit
system? I'd be very curious to know if the database is portable between
32 and 64 bit systems in that way.
Enable 64-bit file support:
./configure CPPFLAGS='-D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64'
Of course, if your 64-bit system is AMD Hammer compatible (Athlon 64
[and Intel Xeon 64-bit?]) then you can run a 32-bit Swish-e. Obviously,
you have all the usual 32-bit limitations if you do that.
