So does all that mean that catdoc aborted while processing some
document?

It's hard, but maybe you can find a document that's making catdoc
crash and try it with wvWare (google for it) and see if that program
works better for filtering.

I don't think Microsoft has been that forthcoming in providing
specifications for their MS Word internal format.  Some Word docs may
not work with catdoc and may with wvWare or the reverse might be true.

I'm also not sure how well SWISH::Filter can detect a failure in
catdoc while processing.  That would be something worth testing.
