brief update for anyone interested , when i ran catdoc with the switch 
-b it seems to index the documents allthough in one instance it finds 
"dog" even though it is spelled "Dog" in the document, but when 
searching on "Dog" it misses .. i will keep at it .. thanks for the 
troubleshooting tips.
