How I can see xml tag in index file?

If i index a file like:
---------------------------
<tag1>
some text
<tag2>other text</tag2>


</tag1>
---------------------------

I want to see with option -x "<tag1>"
some text
<tag2>other text</tag2>

Is it possible?
