On that same machine? I have no clue. Could be a quirk of the new
build process. It seems like maybe a link isn't being created
properly. ldconfig will create the correct links when you add
/usr/local/lib to ld.so.conf, though.
But, as you noticed, Red Hat's default setup doesn't have /usr/local
setup anywhere. So, that could be a problem when building from source
on a reasonably default RH system.
