I ended up using:
 
ReplaceRules regex  !^/DocumentRoot/(.+)!http://www.my_domain.com/$1!

	Sorry, I believe that for your regexp to work correctly it will
need to
	be:
	
	  !^/DocumentRoot(.+)!http://www.my_domain.com$1!
	
	or
	
	  !^/DocumentRoot/(.*)!http://www.my_domain.com/$1!
