Definitely very pedantic with GCC 3.x (and the 2.96 backport). No
warnings are issued with -pedantic removed.

Just as a note. In addition to what (little) testing I do on Windows XP
and 2000 I'm using SWISH-E on:

Redhat 7.1 (with all updates applied):
  $ cat /etc/redhat-release && uname -a
  Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf)
  Linux Daneel.augur.homeip.net 2.4.9-31 #1
    Tue Feb 26 06:23:51 EST 2002   i686 unknown
  $ /usr/bin/gcc --version
  2.96
  $ /usr/local/bin/gcc --version
  2.95.3
  $ /opt/gnu/gcc-3.2/bin/gcc --version
  gcc (GCC) 3.2

Redhat Null (beta 3):
  $ cat /etc/redhat-release && uname -a
  Red Hat Linux release 7.3.94 ((null))
  Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.18-11 #1
    Thu Aug 15 06:22:59 EDT 2002   i586 unknown unknown GNU/Linux
  $ gcc --version
  gcc (GCC) 3.2 (Red Hat Linux Rawhide 3.2-1)

FreeBSD 4.1.1:
  $ uname -a
  FreeBSD  4.1.1-STABLE FreeBSD 4.1.1-STABLE #1:
    Tue Apr 23 10:00:43 EDT 2002   i386
  $ gcc --version
  2.95.2
