Searching PDF files

I am indexing PDF files on my server and successfully index the files
and return the results using a CGI script. However, the search results
lists the name of the PDF file, which isn't very helpful as all my files
are of the form XX-XX-XX.pdf (where X is a number 0-9). Is there any way
to return a more descriptive phrase for each file? something like adding
text in the Title properties field for the PDF file and then having the
search return that?

any help is greatly appreciated

Chris
