Thanks to David Norris for suggesting that I compare the working 
distribution with the version I compiled.

In order for Meta tag searches, including xml, to work it appears that the 
'OKNOMETA' and 'REQMETANAME' properties in config.h should be left exactly 
as delivered.

However, in my reading of the instructions provided with the new version of 
config.h it looked to me as though these properties needed changing.

Perhaps a rewording of those instructions to emphasize  this would help to 
solve this for future users.
