I assume this would be a problem for anyone using the spider. Maybe someone
should form a list of extensions that can be inserted into the spider so it
accepts the files.

The spider needs to be patched to handle extended content types. The
HTTP headers send text/html, however, HTTP-EQUIV overrides them.
