In response to the query from Alan Silver (firstname.lastname@example.org - I
just have to find out the story behind that email address...), David
Malkovsky has kindly made his Windows NT port of SWISH-E available at the
SWISH-E Web site. It is in this directory:
Look for NTSwishE.zip and NTSwishE.README. Thanks David!

Subject: RE: [SWISH-E:323] Help - does anyone have Swish-E for
Windows NT that *really* works ?
I have a version that I put together that seems to work. It is based on
other ports that I found but I decided to make the minimum set of
changes necessary to get it to work (that is for some ambitious person
it should be easy to fold my changes back into the main source track
assuming an ANSI C compiler). I used Visual C++ Version 5 and the
project file and plain makefile are included in the zip.
I haven't used this much but it seems to work for my simple examples I
really don't have time to provide support for it so you'll be using it
an your own risk.
Good luck and I hope this helps you,

Subject: [SWISH-E:323] Help - does anyone have
Swish-E for Windows NT that *really* works ?
I am failing miserably to find/compile Swish-E under
Windows NT. My own
efforts met with all of the problems that I since
discovered had been
described on this list. I then tried downloading the
http://www.caraveo.com/php/swishe.zip, but this seemed
to suffer from the
old infinite loop problem when you try to search.
I tried making the modifications described in
A.S.Igumnov's posting (stored
on the archive as 0239.html, subject line "[SWISH-E:244]
Hangup"), but that gave me the following errors when I
tried to compile it
gcc -c -O2 check.c
In file included from swish.h:20,
readdir.h:19: `_MAX_FNAME' undeclared here (not in a
readdir.h:19: size of array `d_name' has non-integer
readdir.h:27: field `fileinfo' has incomplete type
make: *** [check.o] Error 1
Can anyone help me please ? All I want is an executable
that works. I've
got past the stage of needing the buzz of compiling it
myself !! Any help
would be pathetically gratefully received.
